  • Preparation of Bills of Quantities

Whatever form of procurement is chosen for a project, eventually a measure of the works will be required to enable prices to be obtained from main contractors, sub-contractors or suppliers; this is usually a bill of quantities (BQ) – a detailed measure and description of all components in a building project.

ACP are able to provide a measurement service for employers or contractors that can be fully detailed or abridged and tailored to budget requirements from the information and drawings available at the time of measure. The advantages of a bill of quantities are that it saves time and money in the long run by negating the need for individual tenderers to produce their own measured documents. They provide a consistent base which all tenders refer to and provide a defined statement of work to be carried out, enabling accurate comparison of tenders. Post contract, the BQ can be used for cost reporting and valuation purposes and for agreeing variations in work.
